Derlon, the shore agent for the Disney Wonder ship became one of my very favorite people to work with. Not only was he extremely good at his job but he knew how to have fun. He invited a few people from our team onto the ship and gave us the ultimate tour. We were just in time to see some of the Disney characters and ate to our hearts content. I will say of all the ships I went on, Disney has definitely mastered their ice cream. They even had Pina Colada. Whaa? It was like Dole Whip but better.
One of my absolute favorite things on this ship was their evening dining experiences. Aside from the buffets, they also had themed dinners that families could go to each night. The Creative Palate was one of my favorites. The entire dining area was black and white with animation sketches covering the walls. There was elaborate table placements and dimmed lighting. Through the course of the dinner the whole restaurant began changing from all black and white to color, including all of the servers outfits. Crush, from Finding Nemo, narrated the entire dinner experience and kids had the chance to see their very own drawings come to life on the walls. I didn't know any such thing was possible and now I am rethinkin my childhood. It was life changing.
Someday when I inherit millions of dollars from the great aunt I didn't know I had, I'm taking the whole fam.
Love, Lundie
