Mystic Hot Springs// Monroe, Utah

Let me tell you I have been blessed with the absolute best friends I could have ever asked for. Since meeting Chantel over the summer in Alaska and her taking us on so many fun adventures we decided to bring her to Utah for Thanksgiving break to show her around. We all met up in Logan Monday night and while poor Lexi had to actually go to classes the next day, I showed Chantel around and took her to one of my favorite brunch spots on the Island called Herms. The cinnamon pancake is literally something I've been dreaming about and was the only way I could think to properly kick off the Thanksgiving festivities.

Later Tuesday afternoon we packed up Lex's Subaru and road tripped out to one of our favorite Utah spots to show Chantel what this state is made of. I've seen some pics on Instagram of these cool hot springs in Utah and figured they were "on the way" enough we had to go. Well what turned out to be another 100 miles became one of the best decisions we made. The Mystic Hot Springs is seriously the quirkiest little resort tucked in a little tiny town. The office was filled with trinkets and handmade clothing and jewlery. The man gave us the run down, advised us to take flashlights and showed us a map of where to go. We followed the flagstone stairs that wound around the building up to a huge water fall filling a large hot pot and several bathtubs surrounding. It was a little awkward trying to find our way around and shining our light on all of these bathtubs with people soaking in them but we finally found a vacant one and to our surprise fit all three of us with room to spare.

After soaking we made make shift skirts with our towels and raided the gas station for caffeine and sour candies to help us make the rest of the trip to Moab. We were planning on just camping which we had no problem with even though I knew I would be hating myself the next day but concerned parents took initiative and surprised us with a hotel room in town. We passed out the minute we hit the sheets.

Because we were only going to be there for a day we had to make every hour count. We woke up at 7 which honestly felt like it was the crack of dawn, grabbed some cereal and headed to Arches National Park. We knew we had to do Delicate Arch, total no brainer, so we paid the $25 park fee (you guys, WHAT!?, it used to be practically free to get in) and hiked our little bums off. I was telling Chantel it was a great way to prep for Thanksgiving and out of nowhere this little voice piped up behind us saying "You think this is a workout! You girls need to plan for a bigger hike". Little did we know this cute little lady and her husband would quickly become our role models.

Tina Sprinkles and her husband were roadtripping for Thanksgiving because all of their children were going other places for the holiday. Get this. Not only does she own her own pilates studio but she is one mean photographer. She worked an iPhone like it was nothing. Plus she rocked a nose ring and had this cool tattoo on the back of her neck. Old lady goals you guys. They were the sweetest couple and after talking for a bit we ended up running into them again when we stopped for lunch at the Peace Tree Cafe in town.

After our hike and some yoga on the rocks we showed Chantel Sand Dune Arch which is one of my FAVORITES in the park.

When we went to go grab lunch we tinkered in some of the shops as well and then made our final stop, Dead Horse Point, which has the most breathtaking views. I met a cute French couple and though we couldn't communicate we made had gestures about the Eiffel Tower and how excited I am to visit Paris in February.

It was the best 24 hours and such a fun little trip to kick off the Thanksgiving break.

Love, Lundie
